CAPTOR (iOS) v5.6.8: Expanded Backup Support for Google Drive, Nextcloud, and PowerFolder

We are excited to announce the release of CAPTOR (iOS) version 5.6.8! In this update, we are broadening our backup options to give organizations more flexibility, security, and control over where their captured content is stored. CAPTOR had previously supported backups using SMB2, SMB3, SFTP, WebDAV, OneDrive, and SharePoint. We have now added three additional options to securely backup your CAPTOR content.

What’s New in v5.6.8

• Google Drive Integration: You can now configure CAPTOR to back up photos, videos, audio recordings, and documents directly to Google Drive using secure Google OAuth 2.0 authentication.

• Nextcloud Backup Support: Securely direct your CAPTOR backups to your Nextcloud instance.

• PowerFolder Backup Support: Seamlessly connect and archive your CAPTOR data to PowerFolder servers.

Release Notes & Configuration Guidelines

• Google Drive Setup: Authentication is managed via Google OAuth 2.0 for seamless, enterprise-grade access control.

• Nextcloud Authentication: Connecting to Nextcloud requires the use of an Application Password rather than your standard user password.

• Path Configuration for Nextcloud & PowerFolder: When setting up a custom "Path" configuration for either Nextcloud or PowerFolder, please ensure that the destination folder already exists at the root of your account before initiating backups.
